Ken Follett es uno de los autores más queridos y admirados por los lectores en el mundo entero y la venta total de sus libros supera los ciento sesenta millones de ejemplares. Nació en Cardiff (Gales), pero cuando tenÃa diez años su familia se trasladó a Londres. Se licenció en filosofÃa en la Universidad de Londres y posteriormente trabajó como reportero del South Wales Echo, el periódico de su ciudad natal. Más tarde consiguió trabajo en el Evening News de la capital inglesa y durante esta época publicó, sin mucho éxito, su primera novela. Dejó el periodismo para incorporarse a una editorial pequeña, Everest Books, y mientras tanto continuó escribiendo. Fue su undécima novela la que se convirtió en su primer gran éxito literario. Está casado con Barbara Follett, activista polÃtica que fue representante parlamentaria del Partido Laborista durante trece años. Viven en Stevenage, al norte de Londres. Para relajarse, asiste al teatro y toca la guitarra con una banda llamada Damn Right I Got the Blues. Entre su prolÃfica obra cabe destacar: Los pilares de la Tierra, Noche sobre las aguas, Una fortuna peligrosa, Un lugar llamado libertad, El tercer gemelo, En la boca del dragón, Doble juego, Un mundo sin fin, La caÃda de los gigantes, El invierno del mundo y El umbral de la eternidad. Sin duda una obra maestra del autor , por la que nos lleva a vivir la terrible época de la Segunda Guerra Mundial , el entrelaza la vida de cuatro familias increÃblemente sin duda una novela emocionante e que no es posible dejar de leer.
La verdad al abordar 5 familias, siento que el autor fue muy ambicioso. Por familia hay una cantidad de integrantes y todos ellos tienen sus sueños y secretos... sentà que esos sueños y esos secretos no fueron abordados plenamente porque la historia tenÃa que continuar. Sin mencionar que algunos desenlaces no los disfrute por parecer inverosÃmiles.
Por suerte pude pedir en Amazon este libro de bolsillo en español. Ya había leído en alemán Caída de Gigantes y estaba ansiosa por continuar con la saga. El libro es típico Follet: sencillamente fascinante, aportando muchos detalles históricos y una presentación muy sui generis de cada personaje. Recomendable al 100%
Ken Follett es el gran maestro de la novela contemporánea. Su estilo ágil, sencillo y de ritmo vibrante, combinado con su capacidad para conmover a los lectores, garantiza una lectura para no parar hasta la última página.
Excelente literatura sobre la segunda guerra mundial desde diferentes aspectos y paÃses implicados.Recomendable para los fan de esta trilogÃa!
Super Buch.Hilft mir mein spanisch zu verbessern.Habe schon die englische Ausgabe gelesen.So kann man schön die Besonderheiten der Sprachen kennenlernen.
Muy en la linea de Kenn Follet. Si os gusta el tipo de novela de este autor, os lo recomiendo.
El mejor libro que he leÃdo en mucho tiempo. La trama es súper interesante y la historia esta muy bien construida
